Every good real lead guitarist has a few tricks up their sleeves. A few signature licks, a scale run, maybe a particular technique or even some very special group of notes that they use very strategically.

These tricks up the sleeves are usually to be used in between phrasing and to change the mood and give different dynamics in the solo.
