One of the main skills every real lead guitarist must master is the Picking Technique. And this video I will help you to master just that.
Many people think that Picking Technique is equal to speed. If you think like that, I’m sorry to say that speed is only one of the elements of a good right hand. Picking Technique has a lot to do with CONTROL!
In this video I will teach you a very good exercise that helped me so much. It helped hundreds of my students and it will now help you too!
There are a few things regarding electric guitar that should be mandatory, and that’s it! One of them is the lick I teach in this video.
This lick, using the tapping technique, is one of the most popular licks in the guitar world. I have seen this lick being used in so many different scenarios: rock icons, country bars, church stages and even at a jazz festival.
It is much easier than you think and you can use at any moment, any genre, major or minor key.
You will become a whole lot more badass on guitar than you’ve ever been.
You're welcome!

In this video you will learn how to use the arpeggios in your soloing and improv.
When I was first introduced to arpeggios, it was presented to me as something you use to impress other people, especially other guitar players. That’s because the reference for arpeggios at that time was the virtuose Yngwie Malmsteen, shred master.
Years later I finally learned how to effectively use the arpeggios as a tool to write music and to create melodies in my solos and improvs.
Grab your guitar and let me show you how to add rhythm into your soloing.

Do you want to learn how to solo with more expression? With more meaning? With more FEELING?
Thant's the word, right? When we hear a guitar solo that connect with us and it feels like it's loaded with emotions, we say that that guitarist plays with feeling!
David Gilmore, Santa, BB King, Slash, you name it. There are so many awesome names to this list. They all have that touch, that feeling in their solos.
Well, in this video I talk about a few techniques that will certainly help you to get more feeling in your own solos. Enjoy.Â

I've been working on my picking technique since day one of my guitar journey. What I realized was that this technique is one of the most (if not the most) important skills on lead guitar playing.
This exercise is one of the many that I practiced (and still do) to either sharp my skills or even to increase my speed. Have fun.
How to play guitar fast?Â
I cannot tell you how many times I heard this question in my life as a guitar teacher. The truth is that playing guitar fast is pretty awesome.
In this video you will learn a few fast licks you can learn and play the next time you’re with your friends. These are fast licks using different techniques to impress your friend and a few girls. So, have fun!
However, playing fast is not the main thing in guitar. When I was younger I used to think that a great guitarist is a fast guitarist. All I wanted was to play as fast as John Petrucci. It didn’t take long for me to learn that it would be impossible because he is way too fast… LOL so I had to change the way I thought about that… LOL.
Playing fast has its value, no doubt. It is a great way to bring intensity and the dynamic of rush in a solo and improvisation, but again, it’s just one aspect of guitar playing. Use it as a means to an end, and not an end alone.

Do you still struggle with your Alternate Picking technique? How long have you been playing for? Well, it's time to get over it!
Do this exercise every day, for 5 minutes, for 2 weeks.
In my opinion, the alternate picking technique is the most fundamental skill you should master. But when I say master, I don't mean become a shredder, but rather, become so natural and instinctive to you that you don't need to worry about it anymore.
And this is the goal of this video: to make the alternate picking your second nature.
Just do this exercise every day, for 5 minutes, for 2 weeks. I am certain that you will find great improvement on your picking skills. You will also notice how your playing will become smoother!
