This skill will TRANSFORM your rhythm & solo playing

how to solo Feb 08, 2022

This is not an overstatement. The skill I am teaching in this video can very well transform your rhythm and solo playing.

It is very simple and effective, however, not taught in an easy way most of the time. How to play the interval of sixth, or even how to find the interval of sixth can be tricky, but here’s a way that you’ll never ever forget again.

You're welcome!

Break free from scale shapes!

solo Feb 01, 2022

Everybody knows that the guitar is such a shape-based instrument. With only one single chord shape you can play basically any chord. The same goes for scales, arpeggios and so on.

That can be very beneficial in one hand. You can do so much with only a handful of shapes. On the other hand, it can be very limiting if you get stuck and addicted to the shapes.

In this video you will learn how to break free from the shape of scales and to become more musical and spontaneous in your solos.

You are going to love to use this lick in your solos and improvs.

There are many tools when it comes to soloing and improvising. But sometimes, all you need is just the right combination of just a few notes to connect musically.

These four notes will help you to do exactly that.

I am sure this is going to be one of the licks you will use every time when you solo in a minor key.

They will take your freedom

improv solo Jan 15, 2022

If you have been playing guitar for over one year and still don’t know what I am teaching in this lesson… that’s it. Last chance!

This lesson is basic in how to use two shapes of pentatonic as how to play the Bm chord in two different shapes. If you know how to play Bm in two different shapes you simply have to know how to play the two pentatonic shapes I am teaching here.

Knowing this will give you so much freedom to play and to solo. The fretboard will open up in an amazing way for you to improv all over the fretboard.

This will make your soloing sound so much better

solo Jan 11, 2022

This is definitely my favourite way to play the major scale in my soloing. It just brings such a cool mood and cool melody to my soloing and improv.

Regarding the Major Scale, most people will instantly think of CAGED or THREE NOTES PER STRING. Not in this lesson.

In this video you will learn how to use the major scale for your soloing, how to mix the Pentatonic scale with the major scale. This will make your guitar playing so much fun and rich.

Basic Blues Series #3 - Learn how to start soloing over blues using a different pentatonic shape

blues how to solo Jun 05, 2021

In this video you will learn how to use a different shape of the pentatonic scale to soloing over blues. You'll learn that there are five shapes for the pentatonic scale but we're adding only one more to our toolbox.

This is a very simple and beginner's lesson. However, if you don't get this one right, all the other lessons will be messy and maybe even irrelevant.

The Basic Blues Series is a series where you will learn the very basics of blues. From the structure of the chords and the rhythm, all the way of how to solo and improv on basic but very effective ways. If studied and practiced with seriousness, you will be able to play blues guitar better than 90% of the people out there. You'll be able to jump at any blues session as either the rhythm or lead guitarist.

This Is A Solo You Need To Learn #1

how to solo May 12, 2021

Here's a note-by-note lesson about this cool solo I wrote back in 2004 for a project I was part of.

You will learn not only each note, but also each technique I use in this solo. I am sure there are new things for you to.

Every time we learn a solo, a riff, a lick, we should be learning not only how to copy and play, but go a little deeper in what exactly is the thought behind the solo, what scale, what shape, where is the root and chord tones, the chords behind it, etc. If we do that, then we can say we are actually learning something, not only mimicking somebody else.

My hope is that you can not only learn the solo, but that you're able to add the techniques and the elements to your own playing. Have fun!
